Poken Frequently Asked Questions
What's a Poken?
A poken is a small USB social networking gadget that allows you to store your social networking (Facebook.com, for example) profiles and share them with other Poken users by touching Pokens.
Why would I use a Poken?
Why write down URLs, scribble email addresses, memorize phone numbers and trade business cards when you can quickly, easily and effortlessly trade profiles with new business contacts and friends?
What if I already know my friends' profiles?
Even if you've already connected with someone, it's worth high-fouring your friends every time you hang out with them. You'll be able to view all your social interactions in a timeline.
How Does a Poken Work?
Open an account at http://www.doyoupoken.com.
Attach the Poken to your keychain or keep it in your pocket or purse.
When you meet someone in the Real World, put your Pokens together, and they share your Facebook, Twitter and other social network data.
Share your social networking accounts with your Poken
When you get home, plug your poken into your computer's USB port, and download the data. Then get out on the web and get in touch with the new friends you've made.
Each time you Poken a new friend, a green light glows on your Poken. You can put 64 new friends on your Poken at a time, and an orange light glows when you're getting too popular.
How do I know if it worked?
Pokens have a simple response system.
Green means that you've successfully pokened. Red means you did not poken successfully, so try again. Orange means that you're running out of room (only four contacts left).
Your poken can store up to 64 contacts.
Do I have to share all of my accounts?
No. Just choose the accounts that you'd like to share. Change them when you want. You may want to share different accounts at a business convention than you would at a party.
In fact, you can have several different profiles on your Poken and cycle through them by pressing the hand button. In effect, it's like having several different business cards with you.
When can I buy one?
You can buy one right now. PokenZoo is fully stocked and ready to ship in the U.S.
How much does a Poken cost?
