Andy Piper has a good Poken post, and he considers their uses for the business world.
Writes Andy, "...the cuteness factor can also be off-putting to some people, particularly those with a business purpose in mind..."
While he might be right, my experience seems to indicate otherwise, and I commented so on his blog.
Anyone can do the business card thing or the logo-stamped-trinket, which are all well and good, but to give away a device that is not only eye-catching (Poken designs are stylish and memorable) but functional as well, then a good marketing department or PR agency has the angle they want: they stand out from the crowd, push their brand, and, to top it off, they use the Poken to keep in contact with their prospects by doing the old "high four" and swapping profiles.
As I mentioned on his blog's comment section, PokenZoo has had several inquiries and sales to large corporations that one might immediately think of as stodgy or old-fashioned, but they ordered Pokens, had their logo applied, and made a standard event all the more memorable.
